今回アツコバルーでは、会場を二つに分けデジタルとアナログの両極端な二人のフランス人作家を紹介します。

[B] イヴ・ダングルフォー 日本初上陸！『フレンチ アールブリュット』展
YVES D'ANGLEFORT　FRENCH ART BRUT!

略歴
１９５４年，フランス、リヨン生まれ。生後間もなく養子に出されるが養父とは死別、養母とは折り合いが悪く、施設を転々とする。中学卒業後、目的もなく旅に出た後は時々アルバイトをしながらカリフォルニア、カリブ海の島など放浪生活をしながら絵を描いていた。何度か結婚と離婚を繰り返し、息子も産まれたが２４歳で自殺してしまう。ビルのガラス拭きの仕事で生計を建ててはいたがついに犯罪を犯して１ヶ月留置所に入れられる。しかし、その留置所で彼は初めて絵を描く事に集中できた。
１９８９年、彼は曾祖父の名前をアーチストネームにして作品を発表し始めた。カルチエ財団のディレクター、著名なコレクターにして批評家コルネット・ド・サンシールに認められるが発表までは至らず、又カリブ海に放浪の旅にでる。
２００３年フランスに戻り、グルノーブルの近郊で２番目の息子と暮らす。国からやっと精神病（躁鬱病と精神錯乱）の認定がおりて、生活の保護を受けるようになる。
２０１３年ローザンヌのギャラリーに紹介され初めて本格的に作品が発表されるようになった。たった１年のうちにヨーロッパの主なアールブリュットのコレクションや美術館に作品が買われることになり、２０１４年の１０月にパリで行われたアウトサイダーアートフェアーでアツコバルーに作品が認められ今回初めて日本で紹介される事になった。

放浪の社会図

昨年の１０月に開かれたパリのアウトサイダーアートフェアーで我らのスタンドに感じの良い女性が訪れて、イヴ・ダングルフォーの話をしてくれた。彼女はグルノーブルでこの孤独な作家を助けるボランティアの会の会員だった。私は彼の不幸な生い立ちは知らず、ただポップな色使いとディテールの面白さ、絵画の物語性に惹かれた。日本に戻った後、かの女性から日本で彼の展覧会をしてくれたら嬉しいわ。と言うメールをもらい今回の展覧会の運びとなった。彼の絵にはたくさんの不思議な記号があり，生き物や車、飛行機がちりばめられてまるでおもちゃ箱をひっくり返したようだ。長年の放浪、彷徨からやっとたどり着いた今の場所で彼から出てくるのはこんな楽しい色と形だ、という事になんだか嬉しくなってしまうのだ。

[B]UNIVERS OF YVES D'ANGLEFORT "FRENCH ART BRUT"

Short profile: Born in 1954 in Lyon, France. He spent his childhood in numerous orphanages. After graduating from junior high school, he went off travelling without much purpose and painted. At one stage, he was imprisoned for one month for breaking the law, and this enabled him to concentrate on painting for the first time in his life. He started showing his work in 1989 and the director of Fondation Cartier as well as Cornette de Saint-Cyr, an art collector and a critic, showed interest in his work. However, these interests did not lead to further exhibitions and he decided to go off travelling again. He returned to France in 2003 and started living near Grenoble. At around this time, he started receiving social welfare as he was officially diagnosed as suffering from bipolar disorder and delirium. In 2013, a gallery in Lausanne held first proper exhibition of his paintings. Within a year of this exhibition, his works were acquired by the main collectors and museums dealing in outsider art in Europe. At the Outsider Art Fair in Paris in October 2014, his work impressed Atsuko Barouh and resulted in this first exhibition of his work in Japan.

Paintings of a curious world.

I came across Yves D'Anglefort at the Outsider Art Fair in Paris last October. I did not know anything about his turbulent life but I was fascinated by the details in his paintings as well as by the sense of narrative and the curious world he depicts. I am surprised to see that these paintings are the result of him settling down after years spent wandering around the world. Painting is a manifestation of the 'true' soul, a method of expression which is available to each human being, irrespective of age or living condition. Atsuko Barou
