今回アツコバルーでは、会場を二つに分けデジタルとアナログの両極端な二人のフランス人作家を紹介します。

[A] オリヴィエ・ラツィ写真展「東京乱建築」
"TOKYO ANARCHITECTURE" OLIVIER RATSI

フランス語で無秩序（アナーキー）と建築（アーキテクチャー）を組み合わせた造語、「アナーキーテクチャー」、また「乱建築」 。それをタイトルにしたデジタル写真で、ビジュアルアーティスト、オリヴィエ・ラツィは、私たちの現実空間の認識とその表象の間にズレを生み出します。世界中の都市で撮影した写真をいくつもの断片に切り取り、それらを組み合わせて再構築し、あれっと思わせる建築を作り出すことで、オリヴィエ・ラツィは私たちが日常的に目にしている都市風景の知覚に揺さぶりをかける不思議な都市空間を提示します。私たちが都市風景と思っているものとは何なのか、問いかける作品です。

オリヴィエ・ラツィは、1972年パリ生まれ、パリで活動するビジュアルアーティスト。映像集団「AntiVJ」の共同設立者でありメンバーである。

現地に住んで作る

アツコバルーでは2015年よりアーチストインレジデンスを始める。海外や地方在住の作家がレジデンスで制作して渋谷の我らのアートスペースで発表するという個人の商業画廊としては唯一の試みである。レジデンスは新宿とパリにある。その最初の作家が東京に来るオリヴィエ・ラツィとパリに行く写真家石川竜一である。

ラツィについて

東京は日々変容している。建築物がまるで砂の城のように消えては現れる。まるで過去は夢で現実も非現実のようだ、と思っていたらラツィはまるで私のビジョンを予測したように空間や都市を解体し、再構築しているではないか。これは面白い作家だと思った。彼はこれから東京に降り立ち４週間住んで、街を感じながらもの作りをする。皆さんも楽しみに，彼が東京をどんな風に料理するか是非ご覧になってください。

[A]"TOKYO ANARCHITECTURE" OLIVIER RATSI

'Anarchitecture' is a new word created by combining 'anarchy' and 'architecture'. Visual artist, Olivier Ratsi creates slippage between our perception of real spaces and what such spaces symbolise. He cuts up photographs taken in cities from all round the world and reassembles and reconstructs them to create new architectural structures which stops us in our tracks. By presenting wonderful urban spaces which jolts our perception of cityscapes, which we see in our everyday lives, his photographs question our idea of cityscapes.

Olivier Ratsi was born in 1972 and is a visual artist working in Paris. He is a co-founder and a member of the visual label 'AntiVJ'.

Living and creating on-site.

ATSUKOBAROUH is starting an artist residence programme in 2015. Artists living abroad or in the provinces will reside in Tokyo and exhibit work produced during the residency at our art space in Shibuya. It is the first such initiative by a commercial gallery. We offer residencies in Shinjuku and Paris. First artists to take part are Olivier Ratsi, who will visit Tokyo, and Ryuichi Ishikawa, a photographer who will stay in Paris.

About Olivier Ratsi

Tokyo is constantly transforming. come and go like castles made of sand, as if they are preoccupied with demonstrating that both the past and the present are simply dreams. Ratsi deconstructs and reconstructs spaces and cities as if he has picked up on my own perception of Tokyo. He will spend 4 weeks in Tokyo and create new works as he experiences the city. Please look forward to finding out what he will do with Tokyo.
